PENINSULA HOMECOURT TOURNAMENT – ROUND 1 RESULTS
Friday afternoon saw Round 1 of the Peninsula Homecourt Tournament take place with an outstanding 207 participants from across the 4 competing associations (Frankston Blues 86, Mornington Breaker 75, Southern Peninsula Sharks 34, Western Port Steelers 12).
The volume of participation was so great that it overwhelmed the Homecourt servers throughout the day.
SPBA Director Of Coaching, Lucas Allen, spoke about the first round “It was fantastic to see many of our juniors engaging in the competition yesterday and we hope that the level of engagement just keeps growing”
In the Fundamental Finisher Challenge between Frankston Blues and Mornington Breakers there was a 67-67 tie.
The scoring was lead by Ryland Mclaren for Frankston Blues with 42, followed by Jon McCluskey from Mornington Breakers with 37.
In the Laser Focused Challenge between Southern Peninsula Sharks, the Sharks came away with a 60-50 win over the Steelers.
The scoring was lead by Ben Fewster from Western Port Steelers with 41.
For the Sharks ‘Storm & Sum O’H’ led all scorers with 17.
How the scoring works;
- Top score earns 10 points
- Second best score earns 9 points
- Third best score earns 8 points
- All the way down to Tenth best score earning 1 point
- If athletes are tied for scores, they both get the points

Round 2 starts at 12:00pm on Friday the 17th of April as Frankston Blues take on Southern Peninsula Sharks and Mornington Breakers take on Western Port Steelers.
